When is DIR-6 Filed?
DIR-6 is filed whenever there is a change in any of the particulars of a director/designated partner previously recorded with the DIN, including:
- Present or permanent residential address
- Name, father’s name, or date of birth (as corrected in the Income-tax PAN database)
- Nationality
- Gender
- Income-tax PAN, Aadhaar number, Voter’s ID, Passport number, or Driving Licence number
- Interest in other entities
Important Checkpoints Before Filing
- Required supporting documents must be attached in the specified format
- DSC attached must be registered on the MCA portal against the DIN/DPIN/PAN/Membership number provided
- Applicant must be registered as a Business User on the MCA portal before filing
- DSC of the signing authority must be valid, non-expired, and non-revoked
- Signatory’s DIN must not be flagged for disqualification
- No other DIR-6 should be pending approval against the DIN entered
- The updated details must not already exist in the MCA database as a potential duplicate against an ‘approved’ or ‘KYC-deactivated’ DIN/DPIN

Option 1: Via MCA Services Menu
- Login to MCA portal → MCA Services → E-Filing → Company Forms Download
- Navigate to the header “DIN related filings”
- Access “Form DIR-6 - Intimation of change in particulars of Director/Designated partner to be given to the Central Government”
- Fill up the application
- Optionally save as draft (enabled once DIN/DPIN is entered)
- Submit the webform and note the SRN
- Affix DSC
