Form A-XBRL is a legacy web form filed under the Companies Act, 1956, used by notified companies to file their compliance report in XBRL format with the Central Government. It is governed by Sections 209(1)(d) and 600(3)(b) of the Companies Act, 1956 read with the relevant Cost Accounting Records Rules, 2011.

MCA mandated certain classes of companies to file a compliance report from FY 2011-12 onwards, based on industry-specific Cost Accounting Rules. Companies must convert their compliance report into an XBRL instance document, validate it via the MCA21 XBRL validation tool, and attach it to Form A-XBRL for submission.

Note: Form A-XBRL relates to compliance reporting under the repealed Companies Act, 1956 cost accounting framework. It remains relevant only for historical/pending compliance under that regime.
